As I was doing my online shop at the weekend Seville oranges popped up in the seasonal produce section. I have in the past made jam and chutney so I figured let’s give marmalade a go too.
I found this easy to follow recipe online https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1076652/shortcut-seville-marmalade
I had twice as many oranges as the recipe suggests so I just doubled up on quantities. It did take an awful lot longer to reduce down though than the recipe suggested, and I mean a lot longer. For a while I basically orange soup! It did set a lot more once it had cooled in the jars but I would have like a thicker set really – any suggestions for future marmalade production would be appreciated!!
And voila … 6 jars of tasty homemade marmalade. I picked up the jars and labels in a little local shop.
